Seafood Saturday was a celebration of kaimoana and the kaimahi who deliver it to us, from sea to table.

Brought to you by Seafood New Zealand, Upper Trafalgar Street was buzzing with fishing-related activities and the opportunity to enjoy exquisite locally caught or grown seafood.

With food carts, live entertainment, kids activities and even free fish and chips for the kids, there was something for the entire family.

Ticketed Progressive Lunch

The Seafood Saturday progressive lunch officially sold out! For those who were quick enough to score tickets, this got you a seat at the chef’s choice seafood celebration for 120 people.

It included five ‘chef’s choice’ entrees prepared specifically for the day by chefs from Eight Plates, Kiwi Kai Nelson, Culture Burger Joint (formerly known as Burger Culture) and The Vic Public House. The seafood for each dish was locally and sustainably sourced from Sealord, New Zealand King Salmon, Sanford, Guyton Fisheries and Talley’s.

Each of the five plates was expertly matched with a wine tasting from one of five local wineries – Seifried Estate, Neudorf Vineyards, Kahurangi Estate, Waimea Estate and Tohu Wines.
